Default A pile of Sigs

We were doing active shooter training today, using old issued guns that had been converted to Simunitions use. Its kind of sad to see these 228s relegated to paintgun use.

HK and Colt weren't spared the indignities either -

The Colts were Frankenguns - M16A1 lowers, uppers with removable carrying handles, and M4 barrels and stocks.

I did a training about 10 years ago, and I got a pelican case full of 4" Model 10s, also converted to simunitions and painted orange - even the diamond magnas!

We just finished shooting each other when we heard the news of the Oregon community college murders. Sad day.

Also note the 228 that is still cocked. I cleared it after the picture, but only a few of us old timers knew how to decock a traditional DA/SA pistol. The rest were Glock shooters who were pretty leery of that scary hammer-thingy.

Anybody can read this on a pack of Sigs.
What a clever pun: Sturgeon General!

That Sig comment from the SG seems "fishy" to me, though. Wrong kimd of cigs.

I needed a laugh today, and you provided it. Thanks.

BTW, do you happen to know which species of sturgeon this is?

Default Sim guns

Yep, you gotta watch them "hammer thingy's"......having seen literally truck loads of similar firearms go to the smelter or be dropped sheared into many chunks when they were retired from service. The only positive thing I can say, is that at least the Sigs, Mp's and M16's are at least being used for force on force training and that hopefully will be educational & beneficial for those involved. But when the hardware is retired, you know where it's going to go.

One of the companies that convert brand new weapons to training tools sell's all the parts on ebay or amazon. I bought a brand new Glock 19 barrel for $65.00 shipped. Can't remember the company's name.

We used a bunch of converted Sig 226's and Colt AR15's for our Active Shooter Training about 3 days ago. Our Sigs are painted blue, not orange, and the Colts were done up with blue tape with clear mags to show the simunition rounds. The whole paint treatment makes me sad too.

Talking

Seeing the P228 is my favorite Sig it makes me sad to see them used for this purpose. That said at least they are being used for handgun training.
