From what I've heard one of those companies falls short of your requirements.

I have had direct, personal experience with both S&W and Ruger customer service, and on the whole it has been excellent. I did have one problem with S&W several years ago, when it took over a year to get some magazines I was due in a rebate program, but that was a comedy of errors more than an unwillingness to provide them.

In my experience, both over the years and recently, S&W and Ruger are the best I've experienced in dealing with gun manufacturers. Springfield and Armscor are both excellent as well, but I no longer own their guns. From what I've read, Hi-Point also provides excellent service, and while I will admit to having bought a JHP .45 just to see what it was about, I don't own it now. I didn't have any problems with it, and if that is all I could afford, I'd much rather have one than nothing. Maybe if I had kept it, I would have built up some muscle carrying it.

I wonder where Beretta would be on the hit parade were it not for the military contract and the Lethal Weapon movie franchise. Remember that S&W Model 29's were gathering dust on gun store shelves till Dirty Harry was released, (I should know, that's when I got mine). Not that there's anything wrong with Beretta, there isn't. But this ongoing plastic gun hate should have run it's course. Glocks and M&P's are proven commodities. Their dependability is a matter of record. This argument is akin to who makes the best pickup truck, never ending.

I never said the plastic guns were no good.
But I stand by my statement "I don't care for them".
I'm forced to drive a truck made of plastic, but I'll be damed if I'll shoot a gun made of plastic.

I like Berettas for uniformed duty carry, but they are too big for off duty or ccw. I also think they're too big for the 9mm cartridge. I prefer the 96 over the 92.

People get overly emotional about a gun

I have a couple of Beretta .22's from yesteryear that I like............However......the 92 is way to big for a 9mm..........It should come in 20 ga.

I too love my 3rd gen 5903 and carry it often as well as a 13-1 snub, but when I go to the range I find I always pull out the Italian Beretta 92fs, it is by far the most accurate gun I own, at least in my hands and that's really what counts isn't it. The only polymer gun I own is an M&P 45 fs. Kinda like riding a moped, it gets you from point A to point B but it sure is butt ugly. Each to their own.

Some things to think about on Beretta's:

Newer guns have a scalloped back strap...... making the grip "feel" much smaller

In the full size guns and Centurions(think Commander length barrel and slide) you can get mec-gar 17,18 and 20 rd magazines for open carry.....even a factory 30rd mag.

Concealed carry look at the "Compacts" 13+1 or the Compact M an 8+1 both with 4.2 inch barrels

For the Compacts.... like the S&W you can get magazine sleeves to use full size mags ....... so you can carry 13+1 and a 17-20rd spare mag.

A 92 and a Beretta CX-4 9mm carbine make a great home defense combo.........

That's a Model 81. It isn't seen too often, because its a .32 and it holds one less round than the identical .380 Model 84, due to the semi-rimmed .32 ACP case. Most folks went for the gun with more of the bigger bullets.
