Default LGS Find

First: pics to follow. I'm on vacation but our first snow is due tonight and I am trying to get all my outside "honey dos" done before then.

Went down to The Dalles to do some trading with a buddy. On the way back, tried to find a pawn shop in Yakima that looked (according to their website) liked they had a lot of old stuff. Went back the next day but, unfortunately, every Colt SAA and pre-64 Winnie disappears into the owners private collection. They told me how to find another pawn shop that "sometimes had old stuff". Got lost on the way (Although Yakima calls itself the "Palm Springs of Washington", it is not a place to get lost in!).

We ended up in Selah instead and were looking for a place to turn around. We found a gun shop next to the Police station, so we pulled in.

This was one of those tiny little shops that specialize in black guns. However, there was one that caught my eye: a 1936 DOB Winchester Model 71 Deluxe, with original sling swivels and factory bolt-mounted peep sight. Bluing was well worn but no rust. Wood worn but no splits. Only detraction was a old recoil pad, professionally installed. Also, a side mounted Weaver scope=a 2.5 with external adjusting screws.

Price was only $800!

Also had a 1950 Model 94, same shape for $400. My wife bought the 94 as a Christmas present for me.

Default Sooooo....Are you saying?

The only way to succeed in finding good old goodies to get lost? Congratulations on two nice old Winchesters! Apparently you did find your way home.
