Just picked up a Lyman front sight model 17 patent # 1,901,393 for my mid 1930's model Mossberg model 46. I was checking it out and under the dovetail base it's stamped with a W. Any thoughts as to this marking. The guy I bought it from (the bay) said he took it off a ww2 era trainer. Thanks in advance for any help
