What gun jammed in the New Orleans attempted murder
I do not want to discuss the suspect or see any posts of the video.
Just want to know what gun saved the med student's life by jamming.
I only want this thread to include the make/model of the gun and prayers for the victim.
Thank you

Was the infamous (for jamming) Tec9. Or one of its copies.

I hope that the young lady realizes how lucky she is.I'm reminded of one of the final scenes in "Saving Private Ryan",when Hanks tells Ryan to earn it.My hat is off to the med student that stepped into harm's way for her.The odds of someone else appraising the situation while driving by late at night, and actually doing something, are pretty remote.

Something was "Working" in that man's life. The rotten lowlife was trying to execute him. Based on the video, firing squad is lenient punishment. Joe

It's all over the news. Even up here it was the lead story on the national news.

Second time in a week that a video captured someone's life being spared when a gun pointed at their head failed to fire (the other was outside the cafe during the attack in Paris last week).

That is what I was thinking too. For some reason I thought it might be a .22 caliber model, but when I looked at pictures of one, it seems like the .22 caliber models all have a curved magazine. Thank goodness for the jam.

The planets lined up for that young man no doubt and yes, the young woman was given a gift.......But if it were me, the first stop I would be making when I got out of hospital would be a gun shop to be arming myself!!! The next criminal he encounters may end up being one that has a firearm that will actually shoot!

That's what I thought too. Also, I once owned an early made one and never had it jam on me.

As a cop who saw a lot of TEc 9's in the hands of gang members....I would have issued them to gangsters. Would much prefer to face a bad guy with a Tec 9 than any modern pistol or revolver.

One reason I've never objected to the manufacture and sell of ' Saturday Night Specials'..
If bad guys are going to have guns,, and they will have guns.
I would prefer them having cheap *** saturday night specials.
But to jam / misfire twice,,,, God must have been looking over that young man..

I also bought one when they first came out. Mine was a real ****, and I don't think it ever made it through a full magazine without a stoppage of one kind or another.

I am pleased that the members have kept on topic.
I had thought it was a cheap tacticool .22, but when I saw how the med student fell so hard I thought maybe not a .22.
I know a .22 can be lethal.
Am I correct that a .22 to the abdomen would normally not knock the victim down?

With "recent events" this story got lost. Cops know who the guy is, put a $10K price on his head. Rats will turn him out for $10 large, matter of time. Joe
