Wanted to get an M&P 9 but couldn't resist the Springfield.
Like the title says, I couldn't get past the XD9 MOD.2 sub compact.
I wanted a CC pistol in 9mm and loved the feel of the XD with the 3" barrel. I'll put Pierce grip extenders on the 13 round mags while the 16 round mags fit my large hands perfectly.
The XD MOD.2 just felt better in my hands and my wife felt the same. My wife and I have shot 600-700 rounds of about 7 or 8 different brands of 9mm through it in the last two days and it has performed exceedingly well.
My .460 is a bit hard to conceal but this new XD fits the bill perfectly.

I see they marked the grip where it's to be held, did the also mark the muzzle as an exit?

Right? I don't think they thought that one through. I was thinking about having my trigger engraved with the word....trigger.

Yeah, I didn't highlight that lettering. In spite of the cheesiness of the grip zone lettering, it is a real nice gun for cc.
I've read about some people having issues with the grip safety but I don't even notice it's there. For me, it's just as transparent as the trigger safety so in my case it's a plus.
My wife and I both preferred how it felt in our hands over the M&P and the Glock. although the Glock, the M&P and XD are all very reliable well performing guns, the overwhelming fanboy following of the Glock's is just something I have no interest in.
I'm very pleased with choosing the XD9 mod.2.

Are those stock sights? My buddy has some kind of XD sub-compact and the sights look taller than yours.

Yes they are. Might be the angle of the picture. The front site came stock with fiber optics. I'll get a pic and post in a few minutes that's better.

Here are the pics. Also, included in the case for the gun is a bag with two fiber optic rods enough to make 5 or 6 replacements each. One is red and the other is green.
