629 3" Mag-na-ported & Crowned
This is my 629 (From the early 80's). The action was also tuned by Mag-na-port. It's a very nice shooter. I polished it and it looks sweet!

Great pictures and guns. You all are the reason, i have this incurable habit of buying smiths. I have 3- 629's in 3",4"AND 5". My Son and a grandson have a 629 - 3" and 4" thanks to me.
I have two Rugers, one in 6" or 7" and one never fired in 4". Love them all.

My only shortie in a "4x" caliber, a Lew Horton 24-3. Had a hard time finding a holster for a 3" N-frame, I think I picked this one up at a gun show in New Mexico. I bought the gun from an old gent about 12 years ago and thought it would be a good gun to use as my back-up gun that I carry while bowhunting elk in Colorado. I did carry it for one season and then retired it to the safe, realizing that A) it was worth too much to be flying with and risk losing it to the airline gremlins, B) it really did not offer much in size and weight reduction compared the 4-5/8" Ruger Blackhawk in .45 colt I usually carry, and C) I could not load the .44 special even close to what I get from a .45 colt load in the Blackhawk

My next project in progress is turning this .45 into a 3" belly gun without extractor. There's a couple misc. barrels with proper threads I happen to have laying there with it.

My only 2 BBGs are a CA Bulldog .44 and a (gasp) Taurus 445UL also in .44 spl. The Taurus is my favorite of the 2. Asbestos underwear on.

I'm really liking those Herret's on that Bulldog. Are the comfortable to shoot? I'd like to buy a set to try them out.

Hey Quinn, I have pretty much the same revolver. A 25-2 2.75" that I had converted to .45 Colt, hard chromed. Some other work done too. Love that caliber.

I've owned a few of these over the years and always swap or sell them. They have been great carry guns with one exception. (I had one which had some rifling issues from the factory--- the bullets "keyholed"!)!
Anyway, everybody should have one!! Just won an auction tonight.....
Love the .44 spl!
Best,
Charles

I have a Taurus 441, 44 Special 3" and a Cimarron 45 Colt Thunderer. That Thunderer is accurate on the first shot, but the grips roll under even mild recoil and the second shot is at least 10 or 15 seconds away! The 441 is about what you would expect.

Yes Sir. The Herrett's Shooting Ace grips are for me the most comfortable I've tried on the Bulldog...with or without the Tyler T-grip.
They keep my middle finger from getting slammed by the trigger guard during recoil. The T-grip seems to align the front/rear sight up exactly right for me.
I like T-grips on J-frame sized revolver grip frames. I don't like the Tyler's on K&N frame guns...doesn't feel right in my hand.

2 American Derringers in .45.....3 CAs in .44 and a Taurus in .45.....2 Colts in 44-40 and a MUCH "mortified" Ruger wearing Colt grips.
I've had that cut up CA 44 for 40 years.
The cut up AD weighs 5 ounces on the Postal scales.
The Colts are Sheriff's Models
