"New" stags for an old Colt Cobra
These were mystery Ebay grips that looked like they would fit my 1952 Cobra so I took a chance for under a hundred bucks. They fit perfect and I'm real pleased with them. They just look "right". Pictured with the gun is a rare uncatalogued Berns-Martin IWB holster. Well used just like the gun, but both mechanically perfect. That's remnants of blueing along the top edges of the grips.

Excellent upgrade Wyatt!
I doubt you'll ever want to remove them, they just get better looking every day!

That's a fine gun that. Now I know what mine used to look like. I swapped the Pach. adapter for a T-grip I had because the Pach metal clip interfered with the mainspring binding the gun. If I notched the grips on the inside it should work OK. Did you have that problem? I like the Pach. adapter better. It's probably more age appropriate, and it feels better to me. But they do tend to wobble more.

Wyatt, you want to find a Pachmayr adapter made specifically for the small D-frames. On these, the clips are notched for clearance from the factory to avoid binding on these guns.

I've had no issue with the clip. I will take the handles off my Cobra, though and take a look. On one adapter, I trimmed back the clip a bit and the adapter still fit fine since it is pressure from the handles that keep it in place.

Here is what the clip looks like on a size 7 Pachmayr grip adapter (for new model D-frames):
It's cut at an angle on the left side to provide clearance.
