Went into my LGS today just to what he had in the case. Handled a Glock 43 and was mildly impressed. Then I made the mistake of seeing an RIA 22 TCM/9mm in the case. I fondled it a while and talked to the guy behind the counter about it. (he was actually quite polite and knowledgeable). Got home and have done the google thing; looks to be a pretty reliable, accurate system. Just wondering if anybody on here has first hand knowledge of it. By the way I HAD the money on me to buy it, but I walked away! ......................THIS time
Joining this thread to learn...I'm in the same boat. Looking for something different. The 22 TCM has entered my radar, as has the FN 5.7x28 pistol. Trying to decide what's next.
.22TCM is a slightly more powerful & reloadable version of the 5.7mm
But that is where the similarity ends...
What the .22tcm does is impressive, not only a good defensive round,
its a blast to plink with Then with the included 9mm barrel,
its versatility to be able to quick-change to cheap 9mm is HUGE.
I handled one when they first were announced at a writers meeting by a Factory rep. I was fairly impressed, the accuracy and control-ability were great. If I recall correctly the ballistics were in the 2000 fps range with a 50 gr. bullet. The recoil was almost non-existent, but it was a little loud. I was impressed. I will say that I already own two RIA 1911's both a 9mm and a 45, and both in the compact size. I've got around 2000 rounds through the 9mm and it has been perfect in function and above average in accuracy for a 3" carry gun.
