I've been buying Colts. Picked up 3 SAAs in the past year or so and this is the latest. It's the 125th commemorative and they made a bunch of these so they don't have much collector value. In fact, these high production number commemorative models will often sell for less than a plain Jane SAA and I picked up two as shooters. This one dates from 1961 and I don't believe it had been fired since leaving Hartford. I corrected that.

Very, very nice SAA. I think it's a good idea to buy the Colt brand too. I've picked up a few over the past couple of years. I won't jump on the "gotta have a Python" bandwagon though. While I admire and like the Python revolver and have had a few over the years, I don't believe that they are all that good. Blasphemy... yes, but I am not knocking them just don't think that they are a $2000+ gun.

I am looking for good quality Colts that haven't been beaten to timing problems etc. Would like to find and buy a 357. Same for a pre-72 Detective Special. But unlike SP, I am not at "saturation" with Smith and Wesson. Too many great models to still find and acquire! Nice SAA though!

Good on you for shooting it.
I love the S&W revolver and have several, but the Colts are special in their own way...

I only got one, by accident on trade. Had very little interest in it
until I made up some loads for it and started shooting. Then it
kind of grew on me. Colt NS in .455 EL.
