Default 357 sig to 9mm

I have a sig239 in 357 sig. I have been thinking about buying a 9mm barrel for it. I will of course also need new mags. I have never seen anything on doing this. Has anyone seen this done? 9mm being a lot cheaper would give me more trigger time with the gun.

Can't speak to the Sig 239 model, but I've done this with my Glock 32.

Since I reload, I don't have the high cost of 357sig ammo to deal with, so that helps a LOT!

I can't imagine that what you're after is impossible. Check out Lone Wolf, or Storm Lake or some of the other aftermarket barrel manufacturers and see if they offer what you're after.

I doubt it would work properly. Rim diameter is different between the .357 Sig and the 9mm, and I think that would cause functioning problems. No sweat to go to a .40 S&W, as rim diameters are identical between the .357 and the .40. And same magazines could be used.

Storm lake and Lone wolf do not offer sig barrels. I can buy a 9mm sig barrel from sig but will it fit in a sig 239 that now has a 357 barrel. Perhaps I will have to e-mail Sig and ask them.

Your best approach would be to ask Sig if a 9mm barrel swap is feasible on the same slide, especially if you have to buy the barrel from them. I believe it is not likely to be.

you can go from 40 S&W to either 9mm or 357 sig .. I have both barrels for my 40c ..

It might be worth your while to ask this question over on the Sig Talk forum, in the Sig Sauer subsection gunsmithing area
