Default Japanese WWII Dress Dagger

Well, we had the gun show in Macon, Georgia today, and it was a zoo. . .they had opened all the cages. The dealers said they hadn't seen a crowd like that since right after the banner year of 2013. Lines to get in, and you couldn't even walk around and see stuff since the crowd so was gigantic. So, I spent most of my time outside smoking where I met a dealer/collector of Japanese blades. When I went back in I literally stumbled upon his booth while pushing my way through all the people. I saw this dagger in one of his cases and asked to see it. He said it was nothing. . .not even old. Just a World War II bring back that he had taken in trade. This guy was a purist and only collected the signed antique swords. It looked good to me since I collect WWII stuff. We settled on $275 out the door. It was made in the 1920's to early 1930's and has the good flag marking on the blade. Nice hardwood handle and a real problem-free piece. I was delighted to get it since I don't have one in my collection. I'm not going back tomorrow since I don't want to fight the crowd and not really get to see much of anything, but I was glad I went today.

Very nice, some of the edged weapons from WWII were anything from butt ugly to exquisite. Nice to see you found one on the nicer end of the scale.

I have a feeling gun shows are going to be very popular this year. With what some of our elected officials have in mind and the view some of them have on our enemies, we are in for some rough times.

Yes, you are right. I should have mentioned that today, for the first time in my life of going to gun shows, they had LE at the door going through every pocket book, purse, handbag, and pack of any kind searching for weapons. Kind of funny since a gun show is a room full of weapons. I don't know if they found any, but they probably did.
