Here's my one and only 1911 pattern, Springfield Micro-Compact w/Galco JAK holster. Oh, and another 1911 of a different flavor below it.

That looks like mine did! But mine came with wrap-around Pachmayr grips with silver Colt medallions. It also came with a spur hammer. I still have all of the original parts...at least the ones that didn't break along the way. Wilson did a great job refurbishing mine.

Colt Series 70. Was my IPSC competition pistol, and now my carry. SS Barstow barrel, ejection port cut out, mag well beveled, Bomar sights, ambi safety, extended slide stop, and comp recoil spring. They did not come out of the box that way. It eats any ammo, but I feed it my own.

How about a pair of Colt Gold Cup Trophy's

Current S 70

Norinco 1911A1 .45 ACP and a Winchester 1911 .177 air pistol.

The top gun was among my first pistols and has remained my favorite. After some customization it was destroyed in an accident and rebuilt on a new frame. The other is my newest carry gun in 9mm. The former has a lot more soul and character and the other is just a bit easier to carry around all day.

This is a 70 Series GC I have had for over 40 years. About the time I got it, I saw a cover of Guns and Ammo and Ross Seyfreid was shooting a 2 tone 1911. I knew I had to have one. Several years ago I sent this off and had the frame done in CPII.

New Colt Commander .45
I took this picture when I bought the gun a year ago. I took it to Robin Dietrich to be tricked out for my son, a gift to commemorate his accomplishments in the military. After the work was done the last thing was to have the slide engraved with his unit crest, motto, and his initials, before finishing. The engraver did a horrible job, essentially ruining the slide. When I was trying to find a new replacement slide (good luck, they're like hen's teeth) the Colt Custom Shop offered to fit a new slide, match the work that had already been done, engrave it, and refinish the pistol. It is currently in their hands and should be completed in a couple of months. I'm looking forward to getting it back so I can finally present it to my son, as I had planned to do when he transferred to his new unit back in November. Better late than never!

'74 combat commander

I have some kind of 1911 fetish. My wife thanks that maybe Colt or Smith & Wesson would have some kind of 12 step program that would help me slow down my desire to own as many 1911's as possible. Here is a few of my S&W's, a smattering of Colts and even a few Remington's and Rugers that rest comfortably in my gun safe. The SW engraved model is not actually in my safe yet but sitting at my FFL until we get back home to pick it up later this week.

[Colt ACE. .22LR. I wish it was pre WWII, but though old it's post war. Fun to shoot and accurate. Not up to the High Standard Victor though.

A true 1911, Circa 1918.

It had no finish on it, and I had it re-blued just over a year ago. This gun is super-cool.





Kimber Stainless II that a custom shop up here near me has de-horned, and added a few other touches for me. I also had Metroplights put on it. She shoots real nice, and is my first 1911 'project'. I think I avoided putting do-dads on it, and have instead thought it through carefully. People hate on Kimbers, but this one is reliable, accurate, and I think darn good looking too:









This last one is a Caspian that I eyed at the same custom shop when I brought in my Series 70 COLT to get a different safety put on. I was not going to buy another 1911, but I had to buy this one. It is a full blown custom build and it is the best gun that I own. I am an OK shot, this gun levels me up with shooters a lot better than me. All top end parts, Caspian Frame and Slide, Kart NM Barrel, nylon Target Trigger. Great, great gun.

This Caspian fits my hand perfectly, and the trigger is amazing.
