Looks like a Czech VZ. (or CZ) 52 on top and French MAS 36 on the bottom.

I'm with those guys.

Value wise the Vz52 can vary greatly. Some were converted to 7.62x39 from the all but unobtainable Czech caliber 7.62x45. Where is the magazine? That is an identifying feature.

The value of the MAS is hard to judge from that picture. I cannot see enough of the barrel to tell if it's a MAS 36 or 36/51. MAS 36s vary depending on build date. An original pre-June 1940 example is worth more than a late/post war refurb. From the wood I would say you have a refurbed post war MAS 36 or 36/51.

As these guys said. One is a VZ52 and the other is a MAS.

The MAS 7.5 French (similar to 7.62 NATO) can still be had. PPU makes commercial reloadable ammo for about $15/box. But you'd have a hell of a time finding 7.62x45

7.62x45mm cases can be made from .220 Swift brass, but it's a complicated procedure. And you'd have to get custom reloading dies made in that caliber, which would set you back mucho pesos. If it is in 7.62x39mm, you are lucky, as you have a shooter. If not, you have a wall hanger. I have loaded 7.5 French using 7.5 Swiss dies.

The bottom one is a MAS 36, in 7.5X54 French caliber(7.5 M 29C is the French designation). It's post WW II manufacture, because the front signt protector is round rather than having two ears like a Garand . I don't see evidence of a grenade launcher on what little barrel I can see so it's not a 36/51.

Thanks for all the replies to this thread. Just talked with my uncle and says the VZ52 is in 7.62x45. As for the bottom rifle, I'll have him send me another photo of the barrel end.

Remember the old Capt. Gallant TV show of the 1950's ? The Legionnaires carried MAS 36's. Not sure which sub-model. I was very young then and didn't yet know the basic rifle model.

In my teens, I got a copy of, Small Arms of the World and sorted that out.
