So wholesale in the early '90's was just under $600 for a 6" bright stainless. This I know. I can't imagine they couldn't triple that, then with an msrp of $2395. And a street value of $2200+/-. Import as many parts as legally permitted to remain made in USA; and yes there would be a slow pricey learning curve for assembly.

I don't know why if there is enough of a high end market to support that or not, but it sure would be a nice alternative to the used gun scalping market.

Cobra | Colt

Don't know why they call it a Cobra because it has a steel frame, but there it is...

I'd rather buy one of the older postwar DSs before I did that, but not the newer version with the barrel shroud. It's not too tough to find a good-condition DS in the $500-600 range, but not one from pre-WWII. They run close to double that.

Agreed. I can't imagine the new Cobra will have the level of craftsmanship that the old Colts have.
