Saw that. If I didn't already have one I would be all over that. I suspect they will sell out quickly.

Is it possible they will allow shipment to NJ? The M1 carbine is on the taboo list here.

Sssshhhh. You were supposed to keep that a secret until I got my order form out in the mail tomorrow.
Comrad, I know nothing about NJ gun laws but the CMP website does say that all sales into NJ must go through a licensed dealer. I would assume this means that they can ship rifles there. However they do well other rifles than the M1 carbine. I'd contact a knowledgable dealer and see what they say.

Remember back in the 1960s when DCM sold them for about $20?

Several years back we would make the trip once a year to Anniston. We bought Garands/Carbines/ammo/clips etc.. My best carbine purchase from there was an Underwood(highwood) Bavarian Forestry Police marked. It is a good shooter.
I'm glad they found some more to sell...........A trip to the Anniston store is time well spent.

My Dad bought one for $17.00 and it came with two (2) 15 round magazines. It is a National Postal Meter and I still have it and have added accessories over the years.
It is currently in a repo paratrooper stock and always draws attention at the range.

I remember. I bought one from a co-worker who had gotten
it through the DCM. It was in really nice condition with a
Winchester receiver and an Underwood barrel. I got several
mags and a few hundred rounds of ammo with it. After I shot
up the ammo, which included some tracers, I decided to sell
the rifle. I practically had to give it away to sell it. They were
common back then, not very accurate or powerful enough for
deer hunting and considered pretty much useless by many
people.

I can't explain it but I REALLY want a decent M1 carbine. Regret to have missed an opportunity!

You guys want a good laugh?
I started this thread but almost as soon as I did, my back stated acting up very badly and put me figuratively and literally quite flat on my back in 24-hour pain. And I also spent a night in the Baystate ER in severe pain waiting on an MRI. Finally got the diagnosis today of a problem in the L2-L3 disk and an appointment next week for an injection to try to deal with the issue.
I hope that you guys who are lucky enough to get one enjoy them. Once I am able I'll get some paperwork together and hope to get one in the coming years.
