Default Savage model 1907 in .32

Cleaning a Savage Model 1907 in .32 for a co-worker. He is not a gun guy and got this when his father in law passed a couple years ago. So far the recoil spring is bent and the slide was a bugger to get off. The firing pin retainer is also cracked(posted a want ad in classifieds). Looks like it is going to be a tough part to find. Numrich still has the spring available. This is a some what low 4 digit 225X serial number making it manufactured in 1909. Also has metal slide in grip panels. Not a stitch of bluing left any where in it.

These are great little pistols. They are just starting to take off in the collectors market. I love mine, and shoot it as much as lead availability exists up here. I see complete bolts available on eBay fairly frequently. I was told by a seasoned 1907 Savage owner to not attempt to take the bolt apart. I have not had a need to take mine apart, but if you do could you please document it as I'm sure there are alot of Savage owners who would be interested in seeing how to do it. I was also told to not dry fire it without snap caps. Recoil springs are available from Wolff Gunsprings. These pistols also have a propensity to shed their front sight so just beware. Good luck

.32acp is banned here but I've had my eye on a Husqvarna M1907 in 9mm long recently. Interesting guns.
