Actually those are good guns. I have 2 in black powder and 2 in cartridge SAA style. It's hard to tell the Little Bighorn one from the real ones except none of the actual guns used in the battle survived. . .well, maybe 1 survived. I sure can't afford an early Colt. They do say the parts are interchangeable with the Colts.

I've been wanting one for years, just never felt that it would get enough use to justify the full cost. This one came up used and at a good price, so I decided to grab it.I tore it apart today and gave it a thorough cleaning, oiled it up and got it ready to go.

I think some of the best deals around are good used BP guns from Uberti. They are usually half the price of new.

I had the 1858 Conversion model, rollmarked by Cimarron Arms.

It was chambered in 45 Colt from the factory, and was an accurate shooter and well built.

Glad the Italians keep our heritage going for us!

It is rather funny that most of the old designs are or have been made new by the Italian companies. As long as they make them well and the fit and finish is good ( mine is quite well done ) then I may pick another one up if the opportunity presents itself.

No, the work was done by Forum member Twaits, He also did the same thing for me with this 1860 Army....Both revolvers are Ubertie's.

I bought one of the Pietta 1860 Army .44's back in the '90s. I doubt if it has 100 rounds through it. I actually like the fluted cylinder better. You don't see as many of those.
