Default M2 50 caliber range guns.

I went in a fairly new gun shop that is near my house in Oklahoma City yesterday. It turned out to be fairly large place with a restaurant, big screen TVs, and an indoor range and there were all kinds of Class III guns to rent. One guy and his wife were turning in an MP 5 sub gun and then renting a Thompson. In the middle of the room was a pair of M2 twin .50's on a swivel mount and the sign said, "For rent - $1,000 per belt". Now a thousand bucks is a lot of money to me but I'm getting older and gonna die some day and I just thought, a lot of people burn that at the Casino in one night. If I get a little richer that might be fun to try just once, ...if I had the right hearing protection.

Firing a .50 M2 on an indoor range should be fun on the ears no matter what kind of hearing protection you have. What bullet trap do they have?

Visit any of the multiple "Rent a real MG" Ranges in Vegas the week of SHOT Show. Packed to the gills with folks from all over the world wanting to fire a MACHINE GUN. I've seen the waiting lines out the door.

The Range located behind "Circus Circus" had a .50 bolt or semi auto that was getting a work out. I attended to look at some suppressors as they had half the range so folks could experience their product. The other half was FULL of folks firing all sorts of guns. Lots of Japanese patrons.

I have and will shot about anything. I have shot many African caliber guns, a lightweight 50 BMG single shot rifle, and the first civilian Barrett. I have always wanted to shoot a ma deuce. My father-in-law shot plenty of them. He said all I had to do to shoot the same as his, was to be willing to fly on the underside of a B-17 , in a glass bubble, over hostile terrain.

People pay almost that amount to fly in a fighter plane, drive a race car, etc. it's not like there are hundreds of places offering that and trying to compete with each other on price. Seems fair if you don't mind dropping the cash.

You do realize that twin mount will get loaded with TWO belts. So, that rental price is actually 2000 dollars, about what you would pay for a very nice used Ed Brown Kobra Carry. Personally, I would prefer to have the Ed Brown and what's left of my hearing.

They are a lot of fun to shoot!!! (ocassionaly $$). I was able to pick this one up last fall (semi-auto in Illinois ). I would love to take a full-auto for a spin someday, but at $1000.00 a belt not there. Cans hold 100 rounds, that's awfully expensive ammo even figuring in the weapon "rental" also. I was able to purchase a 1000 rounds from the guy I bought the gun from at $2 a round (660gr ball). Keep looking for a "machine gun shoot" and you hopefully will come across a good deal on a "rental". I know I want to some day
