Default Newbie Knife Question

When measuring the length of a knife blade, what do you measure; the sharpened length of the blade; the length from tip to the frame, or length to the pivot of a folding knife?

On a folding knife I measure tip to frame; on a fixed blade, tip to hilt. I do include the ricasso in the measurement.

Some makers measure their blade by the length of the edge and other will measure beyond the edge.

When I measured my knives I found both to be the cases.

IMHO, what's the length of the blade is how far you can plunge it in the body.

Except when you have your license to carry and your firearm on you then you have no restrictions.
