Default ruger american 9mm

picked up a nib ruger American 9mm today at my LGS, got one out of the safe that had not been on display

I like the feel of the pistol, and the appearance, had never liked the looks or feel of the older rugers striker fire guns

brought it home and found that one magazine was not locking the slide back and this is what I found bad mag issue

I guess the Quality control guys let this one get out, so I will be calling ruger later today with this issue and see how their customer service rates

Their service is good to go . I was hotter than a fire cracker to get the American 9mm got it well built, felt good, a little heavy I have Smiths and Glocks also got the chance to sell it got my cash back sold it . I have a new fact Ruger store Blade Tec holster right hand in the bag yet molded to fit 30 shipped [email protected] holster is a perfect fit molded for that gun

I was more interested in the 45. I have three M&P's so I'm pretty well caught up on 9mm. I'd really like to see a compact/carry version but I suspect that'll be awhile, if at all.

I think the problem with Ruger magazines in general is that Ruger
buys them from various suppliers rather than making them and must
go with the lowest bidder and the quality reflects that.

I have an SR9 that's been perfect. Feels great in the hand and I like the manual safety and mag disconnect. What's the upgrade to the American?

And the mags are top notch Mec Gar made in italy
