The few stray shots in the 9 ring, were me trying to figure out my POA because I'm not used to old school revolver sights. As you can see in the pic below however, once I got it figured out, I pulverized the bulls eye. This is 100 rounds at about 7 yards.
The other stray shots were a combination of me just not aiming right and, the guy next to me shooting his AR. He had the end of the barrel out past the partition and every time he fired, the concussion would hit me right in the face..........usually right as I was about to pull the trigger. After about 10 rounds of that, I decided to pack it in and leave.

Love my rough riders! very underrated pistols for the money.

Oh, BTW.............that was with American Eagle 22LR. The GS/Range was selling them for $3 per 50 ct box. I don't recommend these however. While they are very clean looking and slide in and out of the cylinder easily, they are very dirty/smokey and rather inconsistent. Out of those 2 boxes, about 1/4 of them sounded significantly weaker than the rest and of those, about 10 that sounded like they barely had enough power to clear the barrel.

One of the LGS I frequent gave me a Rough Rider for Christmas (the fact that I had just bought a 39-2, 5904 and a Model 67 helped), haven't shot it yet, thinking about ordering the .22 Magnum cylinder.

Mine is down right now. I'm waiting to hear back from Heritage about parts availability. It needs a cylinder hand spring. Easy fix, but I have to have the part.

Nice revolver, though, when it works. Evidently that spring can be problematic. I've read about several other people who had theirs break.

I agree on American Eagle 22LR being inconsistent. The only thing I will shoot it from any more is a revolver.

I wanted to pick one of these up but they're hard to find in Illinois (some models can't be sold here apparently).

That's where I got mine from and I'm very happy with it.

Heritage (Taurus) shipped me the part for $17.24. Had it a few days. Got it installed today, and she's as good as new. I feel like a gunsmith now. Yeah right . . . it is a nice feeling, though. Would have cost more than the gun did to pay shipping both ways to Miami and have them do it, so I'm really glad it worked out.

I got mine at the Academy Black Friday sale for $99! It shoots fine and to the point of aim. It likes Federal Auto Match better than CCI Mini Mags or CCI SV. Not the quality of a Ruger SS but I get my SA fix about $400 cheaper. When parts break, not if, I can buy the parts very cheap from Heritage.

I did not know Taurus had any relation to Heritage.

Do they still make a steel frame gun? Back when SC, among other places, had a melting point ban, a steel frame model was made for sale there. SC subsequently quietly eliminated that law. However, I was told by several people who owned them there, back when they were the ones officially available, that the steel guns were durable enough but that the alloy ones tended to develop problems with heavy use.

A local shop has a great number of the combos, with alloy frames and faux stag white plastic grips priced at $199, which seems high. Shiptons recently had a longer bbl .22 LR only version for $109.

Heritage branded centerfire SAA clones sell locally for a bit under $400. I beloeve the parts start life with Pietta in Italy.

bought a pair of them back in the eightys to start my two youngest children out on, they shot them a lot and the only issue I had with them was every once in a while they would need to have the screws tightened

takes a long time for a 8 year old to shoot thru a box of 50 when they do it from and old cowboy type single action, but it was a great gun to teach them on and they became better shots, I believe than had I handed them a new buckmark

I like the top one you listed with the adjustable rear sight but, that's a bit more than I'd be willing to pay for it.

Check your local gun shows. They sell in real life for much less that the MSRP....

Or, haggle with a local gun shop to order you one.........

Nah.............I'm good with the one I got. It's plenty accurate enough for simple plinking, which is more or less what I got it for.

That and the "cool" factor of an old style single action revolver for dirt cheap.

Still trying to find some 22 WMR so I can try out the magnum cylinder.

Our home has three Heritage revolvers; a standard 6 inch SWMBO bought for the grandson a few years ago and two of the 3 inch birds head for the missus and me.

Hard to beat a .22/.22 WMR revolver for under $200 in your hand.
