There offering the Redhawk in 41mag but only in a 4.2" barrel.

I think the Redhawk in 357mag and 41mag in 5 1/2" barrels would be spot on.

The 41mag 4.2" would be a nice ccw gun. I pamper my smiths.

I had one with the 5.5" tube - it sure was fun to shoot, but it needed a gun carriage when I went up Bear Canyon behind the house.

The new Redhawk in 45LC / 45 ACP with a 4" barrel looks good too. I know I can punish it and not hurt it.

I guess the reason why there are so few posts here is that the .41 aficionados are tearing full-speed to their LGS to order one. They are incredibly devoted and loyal to their caliber!

it weighs 48 ounces unloaded, and only has a 4.2 inch barrel. It's too darned heavy for me to want to carry (and I routinely carry government model 1911s WITH a stainless J-frame as a BUG).

I know this: with the handloads that Ruger will be able to eat and never look back, that 4" barrel will make the revolver a true Hard Hat Gun! I am a 41 freak, have been since the mid-70s, and my Rugers have eaten stuff that I won't even repeat the load data for. All I will say is that it seemed at the time like the hotter I ran them the more accurate they got!

Well, okay: one load... 14 grains of AA #9 behind my own hard cast 180 shot one ragged hole @ 50 yards off a rest. This out of a 7-1/4" Redhawk 357. Do NOT try that with a Smith. I love mine, and I have over two dozen of them, but I won't mistreat them like that...

Had a 5.5" many years ago that I sold...always wished it was a 4"... As soon as these new ones came out I ordered one...a great gun...

First shots fired at 15 yards DA

6" desert plate at 50 yards DA...the shot that missed was an inch off the plate. That is the best standing DA group at 50 yards I have ever fired..

I have not heard if this is going to be a regular offering or a limited run...

I have a 5.5" stainless Redhawk in .44 mag that I bought new back in
the early 80s. I have carried it all day long in a belt holster on the
outside of my camouflage coveralls when deer hunting. The first deer
that I was able to take with a handgun was with the Redhawk. The
early Redhawks were offered in .357 mag but discontinued long ago.
I confess to not being a fan of the .41 mag and despite the opinions
of .41 fans I don't think there's anything the .41 can do that the .44
can't do better. Carrying a heavy revolver while hunting deer when
most of a day will be spent sitting in a tree stand or ground blind is
a far cry from CC while out in public shopping or whatever. I guess if
someone wants to CC a Redhawk because they think it's cool to do
so wants to make the effort they can probably find a way. But I think
that after the novelty wears off they will leave the big bruiser at home
and carry something else.

.44 fans have their opinions too.

Like Bob, I also found the new 4.2" Redhawk to be very accurate.

Now if you want heavy, Davidson's is also having Ruger build a 7.5" Super Redhawk in .41 Magnum.

I hope they offer a Redhawk in 41 mag with a 5 1/2" barrel too.

I shoulder holstered a 5 1/2" 44 Redhawk in the summertime on the bike and a 7 1/2" 44 Redhawk in the winter time on the bike. I never ride alone. Ever since the Redhawk in 44 was first offered I carried it.

I recently bought this model;the Redhawk 5032.

Great gun but a bit on the heavy side.

I shoot mostly the 45LC in it but have shot about 100 200gr 45ACP LSWC in Ruger moon clips through it.

For target shooting I load mostly 230gr LRN(got 1000 at a show) over 7.0gr of Unique.

I have some 255gr LSWC Kieth style Missouri Bullets that I haven't loaded yet.

For me both the 45LC an 45ACP have equal accuracy in this revolver.

Haven't found any grip maker that makes round butt Redhawk grips

The factory grips are nice but small.

Put a Wolff trigger spring in it.

If you just want to shoot 45LC the Redhawk 5027 with a square butt and Hogue Bantum grips can be found at a cheaper price

I've read about the Super Redhawk in .41 Magnum...and keep asking myself "why do I need one?"....silly question of course...

I really like that round butt.45 Colt/ACP...if I was a .45 gy I would definitely buy one...
