Default One off the bucket list....

I been bidding on these when I see them. But lose them every time. Wanted one ever since they were offered decades ago. These were only offered for two years then Ruger discontinued them. I purchased a Ruger Redhawk in 357mag with a 5 1/2" barrel in stainless. She is as close to as nib as I can get. I finally won one.

Need to clean up the bucket list one gun at a time.

Takes a LOT of steel to make a .357 Redhawk. Congrats.

Be careful! It might burst if you fire .38 +P!

Seriously, they are scarce. I have a 7 1/2". I'd like to know how many were made. I got mine for what was the going price on a used .44. The store had ordered a used .44 but the wholesaler shipped them a .357. The wholesaler had the caliber was wrong on their invoice. At 56 ounces the 7 1/2" isn't just heavy, it's uncomfortably muzzle heavy. However, very few .357s revolvers recoil so little.

What's next on your list?

Next is the Ruger Redhawk in 41 magnum with a 5 1/2" barrel in stainless.
Well I waited so long to get the 357 magnum Redhawk. This will be another wait.

I do not think blued .357s were ever made. The one 5 1/2" blued .41 I shot was polished as well as any revolver and spectacularly accurate. Its owner was one of the best handgun bench rest shooters at our range. He offered it to me but unfortunately it was not in my budget. If you see an affordable blued one don't turn your nose up over it.

Speaking of affordable, I'm curious what it cost to get your .357 home. PM if you like.

Thanks Donn. A few years back with no RedHawks in 357 & 41 magnums were Seen. I purchased the last two new s&w m58 & m57 in 41mag in nickel my LGS had on clearance for $699 each. For the range there fine but they won't see the woods.

Purchased a Redhawk in 41 mag with a 5 1/2" barrel in stainless today. I got lucky again. These are rare like hens teeth. Another one off the bucket list. Seen it, thought about it. Just had too.
Broke but happy.
