I shot the FN 300 Win MAg and the Colt National match last week in the rain.
At the 2 gun shows I purchased two other items, My 1st Ithaca Model 37. It was priced lower than I'd seen before. Found out why. The arm that the holds the shell in and is supposed to push in hen you load the gun is not moving. I pushed a shell in past the twin lifters, loaded them and it fires. Now I have to tear it down.
I bought a riot front half of a Winchester Model 1912 for $100, found out why when I went to fit it to my 1925 M-12. The metal slide arm is split right up the middle where it is thinnest next to the bbl.
I got the parts and fit the fore end in and set it up to fit my action. I was made between 1913 and 1918. It is a bout 20" long and is marked CYL. . I'm sure it was a riot gun for osome one back then.
100 years old and slam fires like a new pup. It will now get to do night duty and help me listen for all that goes bump in the night. Not to mention it is cool looking. The long bbl will get used this Turkey and Dove season lookimg for things that go bump in the day.
