CZ Rifle Info Needed
I found a used CZ 527 Varmint for sale, Heavy barrel, brown laminate BR stock. It has a 20" 1:12 factory threaded barrel with the end turned down to .75" for a "micrometer type barrel resonator".
I think this is an older gun as more recent models have a 1:9 twist.
Can anyone confirm that the factory sold this model with this style barrel?
And what is a "micrometer type barrel resonator"?
Thanks in advance

Depends on the caliber.

You probably need to call CZ-USA and ask these questions. When CZ was based in California, West Covina, IIRC, their product flyer showed a few suppressor ready rifles.

Does it have a set trigger? If so, you push forward on the trigger to set it for about a 16 oz pull.

I have a newer CZ 527 Euro Varmint 1-12 twist. Quite possibly the finest gun I own. Great gun for the money shoots any ammo safely as per the owners manual " chamber will safely shoot all .223 rem and 5.56 Nato". Mine has the set trigger and will shoot 1" groups at 200 yards all day with a Vortex 16 power scope.

Not sure about that model.....
I've got 3 527s in .223...... a American, an American M1 and a FS/ Mannlicher.........the first two were bought "hardly used"......
My first was a buddy who wanted to go to a 527 heavy barrel varmint.
Second new in box .... a gift from his Dad ....traded for a handgun.
All 3 will shoot MOA or less...................
FYI on the barrel just in front of the receiver should be a 2 digit number.... which is the year it was made..........................

I'm 90% sure 527 Varmints have always had ~25" barrels. I'd guess your rifle was chopped to 20" and the muzzle turned down for the muzzle weight.
I just picked up a new 527FS with the 1-in-9 barrel and it's great. CZ doesn't seem to pay attention to the 527 range as much as they do the 455 and the brand new 557 line. Hopefully the 527 gets more attention in the future (bonus points for a new version with a double stack magazines).
