.44 Mag. Desert Eagle
With all the experience and knowledge here does someone know what a Desert Eagle sold for when introduced? I've been on line and have learned a lot about this interesting piece but can't find what they sold for when they came out. Someone here has got to know. Thanks

The Mark I desert Eagle in .357 sold for just over $700.00 in 1985.By the time the .44 magnum version came out, prices jumped to just under a grand for a basic black oxide finished one.

I have a neighbor that is in need of some cash and has offered to sell me his IMI Desert eagle for $450. I have shot it and it IS accurate with my standby 240g JSR Mag loads. It has been shot. Comes with sn box, tool, 3 mags, a gallon of once fired brass and a Doskocil case No jambs unless you touch the mag. I have read and understand that. I think I may "pull the trigger" and pick it up. What do you think?

If you do not want it, I will buy it just to have spare parts, mags and brass for mine

Buy it, if it is in decent shape it is worth several hundred more than that. I have a friend that bought one new for $650.00 years ago

Since it is an IMI copy, and the gas port is not damaged from using lead rounds, should be worth much more then $450.00.If it is an XIX,it would be worth at least $1000.00 for a black oxide version.A few more hundreds for a plated one.FYI most of these guns for sale at auctions below this price point turn out to be scams.I have a friend who has been looking and responding to many adds for the past 18 months with no luck finding a legit one for under a grand.

I bought it yesterday. I took it home and learned how to take it apart, cleaned it and then out to the range. All 3 mags work. As I learned on the net, any pressure on the mag and it will fail to feed. This is bothersome but I doubt I will be carrying it for self defense. Overall I know I did well for $450.
