HK obsession
Hey All,
I loved the ergonomics of my HK P30sk so much that....
I picked up this HK45!
The HK45 is unique in that you can carry it cocked and locked, or in DA/SA mode. (I'll stick to DA/SA mode, as that is partly WHY I bought this pistol...a return to DA/SA trigger systems)
Planning on shooting this VERY soon, so will post a review at that time...

You will like the .45 immensely. Amazingly similar to shooting a nice 1911 with all the modern features, styling, handling. I was very impressed. Only negative is magazines are expensive. Get a bunch though, because you will enjoy blowing through them. (Stock up on AMMO or reloading supplies too).
When you are done shooting you will find it a dream to take down and clean as well. Very easy and intuitive.

Very nice. I have the old school USP in 9 and 45. And a P2000 in 40s&w. The P2000 is what lead to the new HK. I also have a P2000 in 9 on the way.
I only have 1 complaint about HK.. .....their mag prices!!! Although there are good deals to be found online, unfortunately those good deals only relate to HK otherwise it's still expensive

Congratulations.
The HK45's ability to be carried cocked and locked or DA/SA is not that unique. It was handed down by it's older brother the USP family of pistols. The USP and that feature were introduced on the HK USP more than 20 years ago.
These are great guns, very sturdy and durable

Love the USP's - had one of the first to hit shores in California when I lived there. Over there years, there's been a few models in the family and they were all solid performers - excellent pistols. Now down to just one .45USP and a Mark23.
Others mentioned the magazine prices - that's a given on anything with HK stamped into it. Look for a deal, buy a pile and you should be good to go for a long time. I've never worn one out.

Great guns! I have a USP 45 that has never had a malfunction after thousands of rounds. I will never part with it.

Finally put some rounds downrange with this new HK45.
I was grouping so tightly that my target soon had a fist sized hole missing from it!
I only put 120 rounds through it, but ZERO hiccups or drama, just plain old solid performance.
It is what I expected it to be: ergonomic in the hand, mediocre trigger, super accurate, flawless operation.
