Default P229 Legion in 40 S&W in the House !!

Ordered a Sig P229 Legion in 40 S&W a couple of weeks ago and picked it up from my FFL last Thursday and got to shoot it this last weekend ..

And shooting it was a delight .. The DA/SA Grays' trigger 10/4 pounds was very smooth no stacking before the break .. probably the best trigger I have ever squeezed .. and with the short reset trigger reset was about 1/16th of an inch ..

2nd shots were easily done as the sight picture was re-obtained quickly after firing .. The P229 weighing almost 30 ounces with mag make shooting the 40 caliber feel more like shoot a 9mm ..

I will get the 357 sig barrel for it and a 9mm conversion barrel so shooting it will be a bit less expensive ..

the DA 10 pound trigger will take a bit to get use too 3 pounds more then my compact in 40 which is around 7 pounds .. but its so smooth think it will come easy .. I did pull a couple while shooting in the DA mode .. but will over come that with practices .. and dry firing the trigger to get use to it ..

I must have misread the American Rifleman article since I saw SAO and thought it meant Single Action Only, like a 1911.
Excuse my ignorance but I'm not familiar with the Sigs and always thought they were both.
That trigger does sound a little heavy, but I'm sure that can be remedied if wanted.
Looks like a nice pistol!

The P226 Legion comes in your choice of DA/SA or SAO. The P229 Legion only comes in DA/SA.

The Legion model P226 does have a SAO model and a DA/SA model but the P229 Legion is only DA/SA .. Suppose to be a P220 Legion out this summer ..

You can always put a lighter hammer spring in to get the weight down. Going with an 18# or 20# spring is probably what the doctor ordered.

Have thought of doing that after I get a few more rounds through it .. weather hasn't been conducive to going to the range .. only manage to get little over 100 rounds thru it so far ..

Does anyone know what the trigger pull would be with the 18# spring it the p229 ?? or how much it would lower it from the stock 21# spring ..
