Not often seen & unknown to me till I got this one, the Derringer tip-up .22 of similar
appearance as the S&W --


Derringer below is almost identical in form & function to S&W, their innards are very
different ------------

There were many foreign knock offs, especially coming out of
Belgium, Colts were copied also. I had a pepper box a couple
years ago, in very good condition. Looked just like a Thurber,
but was Belgian with British proofs. The knocks offs are worth
considerable less. I have several of those coffee table books,
from some British "Gun Expert" that prints every year. Not a very
technical book, but does have a lot of pictures of the European
copies. You can usually pic these up out of bargain bin, cheap,
after Christmas.
