Default ID of Forehand Arms New Model Hammerless .32

Hallo colleagues, I have just bought an old revolver ,made by Forehand Arms Co. It is called "New Model Hammerless, cal. 32, 3" barrel, 6 shot, black rubber grips, cca 70% nickel plated, in quite good order. On top of barrel there is stamped: Forehand Arms Co.Worcester.Mass.U.S.A. PAT JAN. IINOV.29´87,JAN.3´88. The firearm has matching serial Number 7848 on the butt, on the cylinder and on the bottom of the latch there is stated 848. Would anybody be so kind and let me know the approximate production date? I will realy appreciate any help. Best regards, Jan.

Production would have been after 1890 as that was when Forehand & Wadsworth became Forehand Arms Co. I have an old F&W top break in 32 cal in poor condition. The link below has a little of the company history.

Hallo tayninh69, many thanks for the link about company history, you sent me. From what I already ascertained, the very production of a/m gun ran from 1890 to 1896. These firearms are quite usable pocket revolvers. On this Saturday I will try it in our shooting club. Have a good time, Jan.

Hope it shoots well for you, Jan. Here's a photo of the old F&W that belonged to my father in law.
