Default Closest thing I have to a collection.

I waned to have a Colt Single Action Army in all three of the most common barrel lengths. I wanted one in nickel. I wanted one with genuine ivory stocks. I wanted at least one one in 44 Special and at least one in 45 Colt.

I was able to fill the list with four examples.

A 3G in 44 Special with genuine ivory.

A 3G 38-40 in nickel.

A 2G in 45 Colt.

Another 2G in 45 Colt.

The last two were commemorative models that I bought to shoot. The gold plating on the last one is wearing off leaving nickel. Not nearly as objectionable.

I would classify that as a collection. Very nice.

Yep, that's a collection, anything more than two. Those are very nice too. SAA is one area of collecting I have avoided. But if I win Power Ball then maybe.

The single action army is one of the iconic handguns that any handgunner should have. I think the Broomhandle, Luger, 1911, as well as a P-38 also fits that mold. There are of course others but all of the mentioned forever changed the arms development and use.
