Default Sauer 22 Double Action revolver

I was at the local gunshop today and found something rare. It is a Sauer Medallion 22 Double Action revolver with a 6 inch barrel. It is in excellent condition with original wood grips and box. The dealer has $ 400 on it. He is not certain of the value, he thought that $400 was fair. Does anyone have any information on these revolvers? It looks like a high quality revolver. Thanks in advance.

Sauer made these years ago and most were sold on the German market. They are well made and pretty rare. I think that one in very good condition is worth about $350 to $400, mostly being limited by its rarety and lack of spare parts availability.

I think for $350 it would be a great buy.

I'd guess more in the $200,,or less range,,
just my opinion of course.

When you get into spending $400, you have quite a wide range of available candidates to choose from.

They used to be imported into the US under the 'Hawes' brand name. IIRC the Medallion model was fixed sights, the Trophy was adj sights.
Check some auction sites for sold gun values. Blue Book may help but it can be way off as we know.

Just like the SAA 'Hawes' brand 'City Marshal' , Silver City Marshal' , ect model guns, they were decent JP Sauer made revolvers, but nothing over the top as far as being anything special.
