Dealers with historical rifles/arms.....
I've been calling all over the lowcountry of SC and can't find anybody that has historical arms in SC or the vicinity. My friend in his new found freedom after a heart attack and well deserved divorce and bought a Garand from ATP gunshop here in Ladson, SC. He bought a Japanese 7.7 from somebody around Beaufort/Yemassee and now he's looking to buy more and I'm helping him, not hindering him at all.
He wants to go on a foray, but the places I've called between Charleston and Columbia don't have much. One guy had some sporterized mausers but history is the key word. Anything is game. He wants a Luger but I doubt there's one laying around on a shelf. He lives in Beaufort, me near Charleston. Does anybody know of any shops that might have some historical arms. Shooting irons preferred over junkers and pure collectibles.

Cabela's "library" has some vintage stuff. The one in Greenville had a Luger about a month ago. Hyatt in Charlotte looks interesting.

I just checked out the Hyatt website and they have some neat stuff. One of those Winchester .22 shorts would look nice in my collection.

Collectors' Firearms in Houston, TX, has a huge assortment, but they're a long way from you. Their prices are high, too.

Carolina Rod & Gun, just south of Charleston, down towards Folly Beach, always has a good selection of old stuff...not unusual to see Lugers and USGI 1911's in there.
