Happens every Memorial Day...
They run a bunch of war movies on TV and I get the urge to go shoot my Garand.
Or maybe my Carbine...this thing is about as rough as any rifle I've ever seen but it functions just fine.

Nice Garand.
And that carbine don't look so rough.

I too have the same urge to break out the classics for some range time.
love playing with the M1 Carbine, M1 Garand and 03A3
the other thing that happens is I yell at the pseudo documentaries on the TV that has french soldiers with Enfields... Germans with 03 springfields... etc... the wife thinks I am nuts... but I get it from my father who watched westerns and said the should not have 1892's in 1878 Dakota territory...
I assure my wife I am not the only one who does this... I hope...

Watched "Midway" earlier today. I have seen it a few times before. But, at one point today, I actually laughed out loud. I noticed, for the first time, that Erik Estrada (Mr. Chips) was in it.
SP - Have some fun and shoot it!

It warms the cockles of my heart to see that Saxon has not refurbished (I hate that word) either of his war guns. As for the little carbine being "rough", he must not have seen many ranch rifles. Both of these guns just ooze history that no rebuilt guns can. The sweat of the GI's that carried these is still impregnated into the stocks. Nice nice nice.
