MR73 arrived in Switzerland today, 07/30/2016!!
Many of you guys knows, that there were made a lot of good guns all around the world.
An outstanding and unquestionable one of this kind, is the french Manurhin MR73.
A shootingbuddy praised every time my Manurhin-revolvers at the range. His
holy grail was/is always the hard to find, and not easy to pay MR73, with 5 or 6" barrel.
Now he won an auction in Germany. We could check the gun the first time by the FFL,
who do the export to Switzerland too. Some papers are in process by the Swiss-Gov..
We don't expect real problems for the ex-import, but it is alwyas an exciting thing to
pass a country's border with a gun in the trunk. Especially in this somewhat nervous
times, and the very alerted police- and customs-guys here in Europe.
Stay tuned for more..

Glad your friend won a nice gun. What bbl length did he get, the 5" looks great. Make sure we get some pics of the gun and the smile on his face. I was lucky to find a 4" with adjustable sights, it's being reblued right now. Larry

[QUOTE=Kernel Crittenden;139134154]The M73's action is very S&W like.........
Hello Kernel Crittenden
The picture shows a "single action only MR38, MR32 or MR22 wth an extra long sightline.
The lockwork of the MR 73 got a big difference to S&W in the detail of the trigger-
reboundspring which pushes the slide that rolls on little steelwheels. This makes a big difference in the smoothness of the triggermovement.
I could it explain by myself, but watch post #6 on the following thread. Yeah, I'm lazy!

The import-permission is here!
My shooting-buddy, let us call him FrenchGun, recieved the import-permission from the Swiss Government. Now FrenchGun has to send those original papers with the copy of his Passport, the excerpt of his criminal-record and the copy of the gun-purchase-permission to the very friendly dealer in Germany, who can now ask for the export-permission from the German Government. The summer-vacations comes closer, but we hope that the german papers will be ready within 2-4 weeks.
The only thing that I don't understand is; How could FrenchGun survive so many years without a Manurhin MR73 in his safe ?? But finally he was found by the light and the cure comes a big step closer.
Greetings from Switzerland
And very special greetings to M29since14
Swissman and FrenchGun
Stay tuned for more

Paperwork Update
All papers are now since ca. 3 week by the german police. The friendly dealer/exporter waits for the export-permission they will produce. With those papers can FrenchGun cross the Swiss - German border.... IF...... they finally appears. But the vacation-season will slow the paperstuff a bit.

Eh. I appreciate the sentiment and agree on principle. But glancing over at the china cabinet, I see my wifes Bacarratt crystal stemware. Its just head and shoulders above things like Waterford. Then there's the china itself. Again made in just unoccupied france. So it turns out they really can't make automobiles or a lot of other products, but from time to time they make something worth while.

France makes some pretty nice knives, too. Laguiole and Opinel for example. They also make some interesting guns.

Soooo! You want to see pictures of the MR73... but what exactly??
1 Condition of blueing?
2 Pictures of the inside of the barrel and the chambers?
3 Video of the timing?
4 Video of the cylinder endshake in cocked position?
5 Video of the locking of the cylinder in cocked positon?
6 Pictures of a shooting-session in .38 Special and .357 Mag at 25 meters
7 dito at 50 meters?
8 Picture of the little green monster on M29since14's shoulder?
9 other.... so what exactly?
We need input from you, to do the right preparations.
Swissman and the slowly nervous FrenchGun

Export-License is here!
The friendly gundealer from Germany emailed FrenchGun, that the long awaited export/importpapers from the German Gov. has arrived. We had a plan, that the gun will enter Switzerland together with FrenchGun and Swissman in ca. 16 hours from now on. The personally selfimport will be a very new and exceptional experience for FrenchGun.

The Manurhin MR73 gets the Swiss Passport!
Today, 30/07/2016 at 1pm, crossed the MR 73 the Swiss Border. The customs of both, Germany and Switzerland were very friendly and helpful. They were surprised about the relative low price, that FrenchGun has payed for this french beauty. So the amount of ca. $110.-- for the Swiss VAT didn't hurt so much. The whole procedure at the border didn't last longer than 20 minutes and then, FrenchGun was a proud owner of a "Swiss" Manurhin MR73.
Pictures will follow this week.
Swissman and Frenchgun (who don't get that dirty grin out of his face)
