King Modified 1911 - Now with Ropers
Bought a lot of grips on ebay the other day labeled Plastic and Bakelite. One set didn't look quite right. They turned out to indeed be walnut. As an added bonus they fit my hand perfectly, what are the odds?
After a little minor fitting they went straight on my King sighted early commercial 1911. I cannot wait to get it out to the range.
The bad news about the stocks is that they have been molested and abused a bit, they don't quite fit right because of that, probably a little warped. Not enough to really be a problem for shooting though, and for the price of an overlooked lot of plastic grips on ebay I'm not one to complain at all.
In any case I thought you guys might appreciate this. They are pretty dang neat stocks. It's crazy how perfectly my fingers fit right into the grooves.

Looks like a lot of fun Caleb. Did you run out and shoot it yet?

One thing is for sure - you aren't going to be doing any quick combat reloads. Do you have to use a pencil to punch the magazine release?

Surprisingly no you don't. But you definitely do have to use your left hand.
Still definitely not a quick thing.

I love anything Roper including your new find!
I wonder what made the little dimples on the top of the right panel? Seems like an odd spot to hammer in nails or the like!

Yeah, that one confuses me too, they are sort of on the inside also.

Too cool for school buddy! Congratulations! Think they were custom built for a target shooter?

Zero doubts. Why would someone order them otherwise?

Oh, shot a video and tossed it on youtube. There were some questions regarding how it fits in the hand;

Caleb,
The video allows you to really see the craftsmanship in those stocks. Thanks for posting & count me as envious

I would never kid about things as important as Ropers!
(Seriously though, my travel schedule is bonkers but if you are going to be up in Dj's ever I'll try to bring it in for you to hold)

Just a guess here but if it was holstered, looks like a seat belt buckle could have molested them???

I threw a video in the original post of me handling it, but haven't had the chance to recording me shooting it yet.
