Help identify this single shot rifle please
My brother sent me this picture of a single shot cartridge rifle that belongs to a relative on his wife's side of the family. At first glance it looked like a Sharps, but now I don't think so. This is the only photo I have and I have no other information on it. Thanks for looking.

Hard to see by the small picture.. but "Peabody" was the first that come to my mind.

I believe it's a Starr Breech Loading carbine. Have him check for additional markings- tang, lock plate, or barrel.

Thanks for the quick replies. I believe the ID as a Starr carbine is on the money. I relayed the info to my brother - he said his wife's uncle has seven of them.
