Default Help identify knife

I was gifted this knife about 10 years ago from an old friend on an old forum....it definitely looks like it comes from the other side of the world...any ideas? Not exactly an EDC knife but man, it is sharp as a razor.

That leaf-shaped blade is popular in Spanish knives, but there isn't anything else that makes me think it might be Spanish. Try Bladeforums if nobody gets it here.

The shackle makes me wonder if it's designed for some agricultural function, but that's definitely a WAG.

How big is it?

It's about 4 inches closed. What's a WAG?

I'm no expert, but I'd like to put my money on somewhere in southern Asia.

Beautiful design, and probably a very efficient one.

Qfolks on the Knife Gods page agree with an asian design, higher quality than usually seen. The said to check out Bob Lum, who has apparently done similar work.

I have a Bob Lum Spyderco--it's a safe queen--too beautiful to use. It's an old Chinese design.

I think Bob Lum died. I agree that it's probably Chinese in origin, or a copy of that style.

WAG-
A Wild *** Guess (WAG) is an estimate that is based upon experience, similarity and 'windage' and does not have immediately verifiable data that could be used to substantiate the estimate.

I was also thinking S Asia, maybe India- Pakistan.
But that was just my WAG!

Taiwan. I just came across a current thread bout Shilin knives on Bladeforums. The first knife pictured could have been yours.
Shillin knife
In fact, the similarity between the knives and the back-stories is giving me a pretty good chuckle.

The video about the maker is pretty cool. The narrator speaks so clearly I almost thought for a minute that I could understand Chinese.
