DWM 1918 P08
I picked up a DWM 1918 dated P08 yesterday. I went looking for a .30 Luger but found this 9mm instead.
It was mis-labeled as a .30 Luger, but on inspection it was obviously a 9mm. It was in nicer condition than either of the other DWM 9mm P-08s in the shop, both of which had $1,299 price tags on them, recently marked down from $1,795 as both of them have been in the shop for over a year).
It has an excellent bore with no pitting and sharp rifling, all matching numbers, and fairly good strawing on the small parts.
I paid $995 for it with two period correct (non matching number) magazines and a 1917 dated holster, but no disassembly tool.

That's a good deal. I'm on the lookout for an imperial Luger.
I have a Weimar era simson P08 and a third reich era '36 Mauser.
Next hopefully will be a black widow war time pistol...and of course an imperial.

I took it out for a little shooting this afternoon.
It functioned well overall with just a couple of short cycled rounds out of several magazines - probably due to slightly less than full power loads (5.6 gr of HS-6 with 124 gr bullets). I'll up them to 5.9 grains and try it again with new magazines.
The trigger is a little on the heavy side, but appropriate for a service pistol. It's still very accurate and very pleasant to shoot. The recoil in particular feels very smooth compared to a Hi Power, CZ 75, etc, and double taps with it are excellent.
One of the magazines functions great, the other not so well - it needs a new spring, and I've ordered one for it along with a new recoil spring given that I don't know the 98 years of history on this one.
I've also ordered a pair of Mecgar magazines to shoot, rather than using the originals, given what they sell for. I also ordered some replacement wood magazine bases that I will swap out to make the Mecgar magazines look correct.

I think you got it for a good price with (nearly) all matching numbered parts; the magazine is the hardest one to keep together with the gun as you know. Enjoy!

Great price. Lugers are off the chart on cool factor. That one looks really good. Stocks almost look too good, possibly replacements? My one and only Luger is also a 1918 DWM.

The grips are appropriately old and stamped with "23" along with an inspector mark on the back of one of them. So they are either original or "force fit" to the pistol by someone lucky enough to find "23" stamped grips.
They do appear to have been cleaned pretty well to remove oil and dirt at some point.

Very nice pistol and an excellent price IMO.
The holster is probably a $150/$200 item itself. An early magazines is $100/150 generally.. So you got a matching numbered (xcpt magazine) 1918 DWM for about $700 in my estimation.
