Default High Standard Sentinel Mk II .357

So my buddy sends me a text and wants to know what I know about these...of course I tell him exactly nothing.

So I asked him if was looking to buy it or if he had already purchased it?

Then he tells me he had bought an older clock and had found the gun wrapped in newspaper and in a pouch!!!

Total cost of the clock was $75.00

I told him I'd give $100.00 for it but he declined

So the question to those that have owned one or currently own one what's the value?

Anyway to date the gun by serial #?

Did a little searching and found info that Dan Wesson design marketed by HS?

I asked him for a photo of the clock but it's at his in-laws...but he'd send to me later.

Thanks in advance for any and all information.

I would tell your friend to go back to the people from who he bought the clock and ask them if they knew their gun had been stored in the clock.

Yes Dan Wesson built some .357's and marked them High Standard, I believe all of them were fixed barrels, not the interchangeable version as the Dan Wesson's are.

I have personally never seen one, but I recall a good write up I read for them back in the day.

So would I. But then I'm funny that way.

Yes I mentioned the same thing to him about going back to where it was purchased.

Not sure if his in-laws bought the clock either at a yard sale or Antique shop?

Regardless they should go back.

Yes, that's the Dan Wesson/HS. The ones that I've seen had interchangeable barrels, but came with only one. I had the DW Model 14 with the same barrel shroud as that.

I had a MKIII which had interchangeable barrels and adjustable sights. It was an amazingly accurate first revolver and I wish I had it back. They were and are first rate revolvers. They were made by Wesson.
