fox double 20
Working on a fox double 20 single trigger. I have the gun cocking and extracting. Which it would not do when I got it due to improper assemble and a broken part. When a pull the trigger with no shell I get a click. I do not get a click when I pull the trigger a second time. Does the gun need the recoil to set the second trigger?

You may want to go to shotgunworld.com or even foxcollectors.com with your question. I'll bet you'll get your answer in no time.

If it's an inertia type trigger recoil is needed. Try bumping it with your hand to see of the trigger will reset. We need PICS!!

I think you should clarify something, pictures of the shotgun or your wife?
Just kidding! Sounds like a great lady. I married well also, almost 52 years ago.

After you pull the trigger the first time smack the butt plate with your hand and the second barrel will fire.
I had Fox BST 20g years ago, great shotgun.

I think I own the patent on wife fixing while I'm typing. You'll now have to take both of us out, oh can I bring my wife too. Together they can fix the dinner bill while we type or knock off a 2nd margarita.

Always liked the Savage fox guns, the 20 ga is sweet. Owned a few over the years and prefer the double triggers. Not an expensive gun and not a lot of hand fitting but built tough and a work horse for sure. Have a 20 ga 311 with rust on it for a back up gun if it's raining when I hunt. Someone actually gave the gun to me bc of the rust, a good friend. After you test fire it to make sure it works we'll need the pics of it. Enjoy it, Larry

As far as I can recall, The (Savage mfg) Fox Model B shotguns fitted with a single trigger were only of the Single Non-Selective type (SNS).
A very simple mechanical design that moves a sear selector from under the right sear to under the left sear by following the forward (firing) motion of the right hammer.
Most parts are stamped steel, twisted and formed w/ coil springs hooked around them. It looks none too impressive when you first see it in place with the stock removed from the gun but the same design has worked for them for many years.
Ithaca's Single Non-Selective (SNS Trigger) for their Lefever Nitro Special and Western Arms SxS were near copys,,or perhaps the other way around.
They take a bit of adjustment of the sear arms and maybe the selector slide to get them working well sometimes, but usually offer little problems.
You always get a Right/Left Bbl sequence with a non-selective type, but they are much less complicated than a selective trigger.
Not many times a shooter has time to select the SSTrigger before a game shot anyway. Nice toy though and they are often a 'necessary' item on high dollar guns.
I fix a lot of Single Selective (SST) of all mfg;s,,very few SNS.
You could nearly make a business alone of fixing those SST's
I have a SNS on a Lefever A Grade Nitro Special 20ga Skeet gun choked Sk & Sk,,,makes sense. The only single trigger SxS I have.
I personally like double triggers but will gladly take the SNS too..
