GI USMC KBar Sheath?
Been surfing looking to buy a GI issue, leather sheath for Marine
KBar. Don't want a new remake, anyone know of source that
may have them for sale. Would be happy with good used one.
USMC markings not necessary.

I think if there is one out therefor sale it would be on EBay or Gun Broker. They are not easy to find in good condition. They are also expensive if they are in good shape. I know this because I just looked for one. I ended up buying a current one made in Mexico.

Were Marine sheaths marked as such? I think those with the globe and anchor and USMC on them are recent products, sold commercially.
To get a WWII sheath, you'd probably have to buy the knife with it.

As Texas Star said, the original sheaths were unmarked except for some very early sheaths built by Boyt. I have a dozen or so original Mark 2's and only one is so marked.

Here's a Vietnam Era 'KaBar', it's made by Conetta.

The one that my dad (Navy vet.) swapped a Marine a 5th of whiskey for in WWII and brought back was a plain dark brown leather that was sewn and reinforced with round rivets .
I'm not sure when the "staples" replaced the rivets but this knife was early WWII , the top cap did not have a through pin , the end of the knife tang was peened down to hold the cap on. I know this was changed later . There were no stampings or markings that I ever found .
I wish I could post photo but some creep stole it.

The one I had in Vietnam had no markings on sheath either. I
was Army, never thought to much about it. The only ones I
have run across were stamped USMC, I know these were remakes for the ones on market now. My GI 45 Holster is kinda
mushy too. All the rivets were bleeding green goo. It had been
saturated with gun oil almost every day. You had to wipe your
pistol down every day, even if not handled they would rust
overnight.

$40 for a plastic custom sheath for a Ka Bar, not from this child
don't even want to know what he would want for a leather one.
$12 gets you leather repro.
