In the pocket? Victorinox Spartan, about five years. Replaced another of the same model. I have a couple of spares, if needed, and sometimes rotate them, not really often.

In a belt pouch: Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn, the large one, usually. Mainly at home, as its image may upset a cop if I'm ever checked. In public, a Benchmade Model 710. Had the A-F maybe 15 years, the Benchmade about ten.

Sometimes, I carry something different if mood suits. But mostly, those are the EDC choices.

I have a couple of Spyderco Delica 4 FFG, purchased a few months apart. I've been carrying one or the other for about 4-1/2 years.

For 15 years or more I have carried a Syderco three inch blade. I have dumped at least four at airports. Not terribly expensive but one hand operated and sharp. Sometimes it is all you have. Better to carry a quality knife you can replace than a knife you are attached to. The only time I had to respond to a potential terrorist act was on a plane from Sarajevo to Istanbul and it was with four other men stopping a guy from going to the cockpit. I was armed with a government fine point pin. He decided discretion was the better point of valor. He was arrested in Istanbul. May you never be in a situation like that.

I've carried this lil' AG Russell for the last 10 or so years.

A Cold Steel something or other. I don't remember the model, and they don't make it anymore anyway. I've carried it for 7 or so years.

Coincidentally, for the last few days I've carried the first knife that I bought myself, a Buck 301 Stockman. I bought it about 1969 with money from my paper route. It has spent more days in my pocket than any other but was in storage for quite a while. Usually I have a Peanut in my pocket and something larger in a belt pouch or a coat pocket. I like old school classic slip joints. Logically a knife as small as a Peanut would have two full length blades because their secondary blades are not good for much more than opening envelopes. Despite owning such knives a Peanut keeps slipping back into my pocket. They're true classics.

I don't really know. I know I had the Swiss Army Knife I carry now, when my wife got sick about nine years ago, because I lost the toothpick and ordered some more online while I was at home caring for her. I ordered a half dozen picks and tweezers each at the time. Wouldn't you know, I haven't lost one of either since?

I've also got a no name (that I remember anyway) assisted folder that I keep in my back pocket that I've had almost as long.

Not really a knife, per say, but-
I carry a "Home-Depot" type folding razor blade. I've had this one for about ten years, and a similar one for about ten before that. The first one fell into a place I was not willing to go to retrieve it!
They're inexpensive, and light and thin. Probably not much of a fighting blade, but if I'm ever attacked by cardboard boxes, I'll be set.

Victorinox Automotive for 50 years this year. Carried and used every day of my 30 year career as a Mercedes-Benz mechanic/shop owner. The Voyager was the dress version of the work knife, on and off about the same length of time. They are now both retired, as I am, taking a long rest.

A Wenger Swiss Army Traveler since the mid 70's. Sent it back in the 90's when the scissors broke, got a brand new one in return. It's in my Levis pocket, at the ready.

Swiss Army Knife, Victorinox. The Scissors is the most important tool.
Carried one version or another since I bought one on sale at the PX in Germany in 1977.

Spyderco manix 2 for about 5 years now

Outside the gates Al Mar SERE. Inside the gates Randall #1 mini. Lotsa years.

The same 1st Gen Spyderco delica for many, many years.

I've carried this little carbon steel Tidioute Conductor for five full years now. The gold color has now matured into a beautiful medium brown. Once I forced a curing patina on the blades, I don't really have any kind of rust problems.

I don't carry big knives. This little beauty is always with me and pretty much disappears in my pocket. As adept at opening packages and slicing an apple as it is removing an errant thread from a beautiful woman's blouse, I figure this great American made knife will hold up the rest of my days.

The Tidioute brand is one of several made in Pennsylvania by Great Eastern Cutlery. When I purchased this shortly after this model was released, all materials and labor were American. I haven't kept up with the company, so I have no idea what the current policy is. I am very pleased with mine.

I carry a SOG Flash II Tanto. It's a work knife and a EDC. Very good quality, American Made.

... until I lose it. That's ok, because I have found many more knives, mostly on a streambank, than I have lost during my life. Of course, most of those knives have been lost, too! I recently decided to honor my Dad by carrying his Schrade Old Timer instead of letting it sit on the shelf where it has been for 25 years or so. Imagine my dismay when I recently reached in my pocket and found ... nothing.

This was followed by an hour of sifting through pine needles and saw dust where I had been operating the chain saw. All to no avail. I eventually became very discouraged, used many perfectly appropriate words, and gave up. Later, I went to retrieve my work clothes from the washer ... and guess what I found! Life is good. And, yes, after some thought, I will continue to carry it.

Buck 301 Stockman continually since 1974. I had one and in 1974 (the year my son was born) I broke a pin and sent it back for repair and they sent a new knife. I can't remember the year I bought my first one. Larry

Took me 30 years of daily carry to wear out a Buck 110, some pocket time, but mostly in a belt pouch.

12+ years. Case copperlock with Caribbean blue scales. Got it on my honeymoon at Smokey Mountain knife works in TN

I have a couple of old brass trimmed small lock backs that I've carried off and on since the 80s.Prior to that it would have been a SAK,but I've never had much luck putting a good edge on those.

I've carried a SOG Flash II that I found in Alaska in 2010 up until about 2 months ago, changed to a Buck Alpha Crosslock. Prior to that it was usually a small Browning or Oldtimer folder.

I have several SAK's that I keep handy for different uses. I always carry one in a pocket. I have fixed blade hunting and general use folders that I carry from time to time, but a SAK is always in my pocket,

About 15 years now, given me by Chuck Buck, my pride and joy. The blade is barely used, but the rest of the tools see use on a regular basis.

I don't carry a big pocket knife, because I carry tool pouch with a utility
razor knife and a Hawk bill for cable. Over the years I find myself with
the small lite-weight lock backs, like Case, Blackthorn. I have to replace
these once in a while, from misuse blades broke and handles broke. In the
field I carry a old Case Stockman, that I've had for 40yrs.

Spyderco LUM. Must have been carrying it something over 10 years IIRC.

23 or so years. Benchmade Pat Crawford Leopard. It's been back to Benchmade half a dozen time for a resharpen. The black anodizing has worn off and now it looks silver. I had to rebuild it once so far. The clip screws stripped out. I drilled and tapped it for Leupold scope screws. Perfect!

Kershaw Cryo G10 for about a year, Leatherman PS4 Squirt a little less than a year!

For at least twenty years, maybe thirty, I have carried a Leatherman Micra, mostly for the scissors. Anything else, not very long. I switch pocket knives a couple of times a week. Right now, it is a Case peanut and an Opinel No.8, sanded down a bit to ride better in the pocket.

I have been carrying A Gerber LST since Early/Mid 80's I have lost a couple to My Uniform Company But I always find another in fact I just purchased another to put up in a Local Pawn Shop for 5$

At work fixing copiers I like to carry a small lockblade. I used a Gerber Magnum LST Junior for at least 15 years before I had to buy another. I had taken a eighth inch off the length and width of the blade from sharpening. It would not hold a edge any more. That was about a year or two ago so I should be GTG until I retire in about 8 years.





I bought a Kershaw Scamp about 4 years ago that I carry whenever I am off work. I like it so much I bought a second to keep in the closet when the first one wears out.

These two knives have ridden in my pocket for somewhere around 99+% of the time for the last 12 years or so. Cold Steel Pocket Bushman and Schrade SS1.. I'll get a new knife carry it a few days to a week then lo and behold this pair shows back up in my pocket. They do their job well above and beyond expectation.

Oh, The LCP has had a place in my pocket for the last 6 years.
