military knife guys, a new one on me(pics added)
yesterday over in AR I picked up an Ontario Knife Co "short" machete/saw. the blade is 10 1/2" with a flat tip that is 1 7/8" wide. saw teeth on the top and very sharp edge on the bottom. black "hard plastic?" handle. I will post pics tomorrow when the light is right. I tried indoors tonight but had too much light reflections. also U.S. marked on the blade near the handle. thanks in advance. lee

My nephew bought one new at a pawn shop in Ashland, Ky. in the late 90's. I'd call it a survivalist tool and leave it at that. I believe they were all marked as if the were used by the military, but it is just another roll marked decoration. For a teen-aged boy, camping and tearing up the woods, it out lasted all the abuse he could think of! It would be a good candidate for a B.O.B. or to live in the truck (which is where his is now), but I don't think you'll be disappointed by it at most jobs except trying to skin any sized game.
