Default Hy Hunter derringer

Picked this up on a package deal out of Oklahoma.
Chambered in .38/.357
I believe this was probably purchased in the early 60's as a backup gun by the original owner (Ottawa Sheriff).
Anyone else out there have any experience with these?
I may let my boy shoot this if he wants but I think I'll shy away from that punishment

I've had them, the 357 will let you know you shot something. I
bruised the ball of my thumb with about 10 shots.

I had a "Hi Hunter" nickeled derringer in 38 special approx. 1963-1964. At 25 yards I could keep shots from both barrels in the "Kill Area" of a B-27 target. When I went to a larger agency I sold it to a deputy friend. I regretted not keeping it.
