Default My Budget AR

I got a Bushmaster upper a few weeks ago for $325 which I thought was a reasonable price. I don't eat and breathe AR stuff so maybe it wasn't a good deal. The intention was to have a dedicated upper to go with the CMMG 22lr conversion unit I picked up about the same time. The same lgs where I got the upper had recently gotten in some complete Anderson lowers and the wheels started turning. I'll just put together a complete 22 AR and that way there will be no swapping of uppers. I put it together yesterday morning and headed out to our place in the country. After the usual brush clearing/burning I tried it out. Ran 50 rounds of CCI MM through it without a hiccup and I can say that I am extremely pleased. Plus I can always convert it back to 5.56mm if needed. Without the CMMG unit I am into the rifle right at 500.(Maybe I will get into AR's, I had the lgs put a couple stripped lowers back for me).

Good Deal!
I assembled one from scratch a couple of years ago just to see if I could do it. I have around $600 in mine.

It's now possible to buy a new S&W M&P 15 for around $600 all-in. And most think it's about as good an entry level AR as you can get.

Thumbs up

Enjoy it. ARs are by and large a commodity.
