I have two M & P 22C's, and a Model 63. One of the 22C's now has over 35,000 rounds through it. Only one trip back to S & W for a new firing pin. I'm going to try to wear out the new firing pin also. I've been thinking about the Victory but with the new Ruger Mark IV Target and the new Ruger 22/45 Mark IV Lite it's making it a hard decision.

I plan on plinking a lot with this one.
I've only had the gun, ammo, grip combo out once so far.
Some minor sight adjustment and I was on center.
It plinks well for me.
I try not to think about what a real shooter could do with it.

I got these all within a week of each other, for short money. Back when .22 ammo was real scarce. The little mkII is my current favorite plinker, although I'll never part with my single six.

I have several 22LR guns but I would say this one is my favorite plinker.

I found a few more. The Ruger shot so good I made a 50 yard & out ammo tester out of it.

112 posts and nary a mention of a 422, 622, or 2206?
Well, something needs to be done about that!
Here's my plinker -- a terrific and accurate gun, for sure!
2206 6" barrel

Get a nice reliable revolver. My 78 year-old H&R "Expert" has successfully fired every junk round that my picky 42 year-old Ruger Standard has refused to digest.

I used to have a fixed sight version in blue. I agree, very accurate. I kinda like the magazine release on these.

Hey, you move your target a bit to the left, and you're good to go! Nice wood on that pistol!

Not sure the winchester 555's would even work in a revolver. The brass is weak up close to the mouth and splits causing extraction problems. I've tried it in my two pistols and my daughters Sr22. There is no way I'll use it in my target rifle.
I have been hankering for a revolver though.... Hmmm.

That's quite a complex zip gun. The ones I made used the part of a "telescoping" car antenna, .22 sized, a "hammer nut" for mass and a chiseled point nail in the center for a firing pin. You could actually hit something from 10 ft away. No pix, sorry. Happened way back in the 20th century. Joe

Got this one a few weeks ago and just got the scope sighted in today. It was on GB as new unfired but no box and I believe it. It is plenty accurate for my needs. It is one of the 50th anniversary 10/22's. I really the stock and being stainless I don't have to worry about it so much.

Here's a couple of Marlin Levermatic rim fires I just picked up. Top one is a Model 57-m 22 Mag, the bottom one is a Model 56 22LR made in 1955 or 56. Both are very accurate shooters

Another S&W 422 with suppressor adapter
422 with adapter for my Gemtech, the best part is its light weight and 100% reliability with sub-sonic ammo. I am guessing because the of the bolt mass. Bought new, still have all the paperwork, box, and the little orange take-down tool!

My Ruger MKIII 512 has become my wife's favorite target gun and plinker, especially since I eliminated the magazine disconnect with the TandemKross hammer bushing.
Long barrelled .22's are huge fun on spinners and tiny little plastic bottles. Ones with .22WMR cylinders are murder on full diet sodas!- I usually shoot the old school 4 four clicks Colt while the wife uses the Ruger.
I don't use the Speed Beez loaders these days, .22 Ammo being a bit more expensive, but the 10 shot 17-8 is about as much fun as you can have at the range.
Talk about a blast, a lever action which can keep up with most semi-autos, the Marlin Model 57 'Levermatic'-here disguised as a J.C. Higgins Model 44. Accurate and FAST. Got this one with finish issues for $115 tax included. Cleaned her up and refinished the stock.

as far as a plinker, I guess this old k22 masterpiece is and always will be my favorite, it started life back in the mid 50's and was my dads coon hunting pistol, and was carried on many coon hunts in its early life
late in the 1960s he drank a little to much on one of these social outings (which he was known to do on occasion) and left it in a wet holster under his truck seat long enough for it to get a severe coating of rust.
so he took it to a local gun smith (skillet Johnson) and had it hard chromed and a trigger job done on it, (I found the receipt for the work about a year back)
this old gal has shot enough squirrels, rabbits, raccoon's, hogs, frogs, and ground hogs to feed an army division.
I still have the original magnas but most of the time it wears good years

.22LR Browning takedown
I found this little gem at a garage sale about 10 years ago. I first looked to see if it was the Belgium or Japanese (Miroku) version, so I could negotiate appropriately. Gentleman was aware, but the condition was rough. many indentations in the Browning glossy finish, and had never been cleaned! Lots of surface rust, also.
The front sight was set back just enough to be threaded for my Gemtech Outback. The iron sights are tiny, but is very accurate, light and has been 100% reliable with Fiocchi sub-sonic.

Never know when you may have to defend your Shaggy Mane mushroom patch from a claim jumper. Almost didn't bring enough gun (woodsman sport) for that big blue grouse.

First issue woodsman sport and target, when they're not being used for plinking, they're being used to bring home grouse. Wife and pooch with limit of grouse (3 each).

Here, in the foreground, is my latest addition to my 22 caliber collection: a 1980, 4" Dan Wesson Model 22. She is hands down the best 22 revolver I have ever owned, and compliments my M&P 15-22, Victory, and Ruger MK I very nicely.
(the other gun in the photo is a 28-2, please ignore with regards to the context of this thread)

Always like shooting this one. Does quite well for being manufactured in 1909.
These two are also a lot of fun to shoot. Top is a 1936 K-22 Outdoorsman. Bottom is a 1948 K-22 Masterpiece

I have been shooting mostly revolver in the last two months again and this one is my favourite when plinking in double action.
I had an awful experience sighting a Weihrauch Arminius in at 25 yards for a friend! That trigger was unmanageable in double action and horrible in single action; a half mile of creep and felt like 8 pounds.

I don't think I'll ever go to the range without packing this.
