Two of my favorite plinkers are a Walther P-22, and a Ruger Bearcat. Both about as different from each other as handguns can be, but both are great for tossing in your pocket for walks in the woods, which is where I do most of my plinking. I own more expensive and accurate .22 handguns, but they require a holster do to size and weight, and so are not as convenient for an informal walk in the woods.

Okay, I narrowed it down to the two I have been shooting the most recently in a general comparison; Ruger MKIII 22/45 LITE and S&W Victory.
With the addition of the Majestic Arms SPEED STRIP kit for the Ruger I'm leaning on it being my current favorite.

Here is a last mid spring picture of my plinker showing off its new Victory trigger from TK. I've since done a few more upgrades... re installed the rail and added a TRS-25 red dot. I really should take a current picture.
My other one is still being broken in.

I bought the Henry couple of days ago and haven't had a chance to shoot it and the Heritage a few weeks ago . The 10/22 I've had for a year and is very accurate with Hi Viz sights and BX Trigger . I recently switched the 10/22 over to a Magpul Stock , Primary Arms Scope with DNZ mount

The original numbered grips are in the box.
By far my favorite, and well liked by many at my firehouse as well.

Nowadays I use the Hämmerli 212 as a plinker but the S&W 22A had been tortured has endured over 110,000 rounds. During those years a special bond was formed.
The 10/22 has been America's favourite plinker for decades and no good household should be without one!

Firstly the handgun. RIA bottom with trigger by 1911 Custom guns ipsc uspsa and Nighthawk .22 conversion. Second, plain olde Marlin 60 which is shooting better than 1/2" at 25 yds.

I don't get to do much genuine plinking these days. These get used at an indoor range, but would work fine out back on soup cans and such.
1984, 18-3...No fear of holstering this one.
My wife's first gun after she escaped from Chicago. 50th Anniversary Single-Six. She liked the idea of a "Cowboy gun." Slow, but we're not in a hurry to shoot up our ammo.
And she saw this one and had to have it. High Standard R-101. Good shooter actually.
Favorite? Well, I admit I have a weakness for 4", K-frames, so I suppose it's the Model 18.

Well, this is my latest one. One of only a few without a threaded barrel.
I love me some suppressors!
The second pic, the middle one. Marlin 39A original golden. Amazing rifle.

Cool thread.
Whatever it is, be sure to practice with it often and enjoy the satisfaction of great marksmanship at your local range.

K-22, s/n K2414. I shoot it often and reasonably well. If you look closely you'll see a small area of pitting on the frame where the barrel is.
This and the 1947 Woodsman sat in an old friend's target box for decades, both were pitted where they sat upright in the felt lined stand.
So I shoot them both and don't worry about leaving them in the safe. And I think of my old friend whenever I do.
Regards,
turnerriver

Not sure I really have a favorite but I do have Many .22 plinkers and I try to get out and shoot most of them as often as I can. I even have the first .22 plinker that I bought to teach my children to shoot when they were youngens. It's a Stevens "chipmunk" bolt-action single shot. It's put away in my safe now, waiting for the first two grand kids to get old enough to learn how to shoot.

I love me some suppressors!
The second pic, the middle one. Marlin 39A original golden. Amazing rifle.

I'm loving it! Amazing condition for a 1954 gun.

This one is fun too! Browning Buckmark 14" Unlimited Silhouette. Too long for my light box!
