Default Benelli

Looking at a used Benelli 20ga in camo.
Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a Super Black Eagle and an M-2?
Not marked on the gun that I could see.
And does it make any difference.
I have an SBE in 12ga that is a fine firearm.
Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

There is no Super Black Eagle in 20ga. It will either be an M1 or M2. I don't think they made any of there other 20ga models in camo.

correct. On SBE's though, sweeeeet. Got one of those. I do everything from 2 3/4" 8 shot for Woodcock to 3 1/2 double ought for deer with one of those. Far and away my favorite and most versatile shotgun. Maybe any gun, period.

I have both a SBE and a 20 Montefeltro with traditional wood.

For folks that started out making fast motorcycles they sure did right in the shotgun world.

Like Mr. Harry my SBE is the most versatile shotgun I've ever owned.

I've bagged ducks, geese, turkeys, quail, chukar and Pheasant with it.

I also have used it for trap and sporting clays.

Mine has the shorter bbl and it is perfect for the above disciplines.

My 20 has been used on doves. I plan on looking for small game this year, rabbits, quail and squirrel this winter. There is a Fox squirrel, large, that keeps annoying me at my deer blind. He specifically volunteered to be #1 on the hit parade.

I have strong bonds with the Winchester Model 12 in 12 and 16. I sold my 20 and have never found a reasonable one to replace it. With the Benelli 20 I don't have to.

My M-12's are wonderful guns, built like a fast tank. The Benellis are like a Maserati or Ferrari and also have light high speed tank parts.

Benelli's also leave me with the feeling Gina Lollobrigida is hugging my shoulder. Ciao.

I love taking ridiculous pictures like these with my "Duck Gun" because it singes the small hairs on my snobby upland bird purist pals so much. Haha!

I've heard rumors of camo Montefeltros, but have never seen one. It is an M2, I have one in 12 and one in 20 and they're great shotguns. M1, M2 and Montefeltros have one piece receivers. SBE, SBE2, Super sport and Legecy have two part receivers.

Thanks for the response.
I was in a hurry. Did a little research but did not pay enough attention.
So, I thought I would just query the smartest people on the interwebs. I was not disappointed.
It was an M2 as it is stamped just below the ejection port. I need to increase the mag setting on my readers. But kind of hard to see on the camo.
But it is a neat little gun. I think I will like it. And a good price from the local pawn shop. Appears not to have been used much.
Again, Thanks.

John take your Camo gun woodcock hunting with Mr
Harry for the selfies after the hunt. Don't lay yours down in premium woodcock cover, it might be hard to locate......

I once found a woodcock covert in western MO by accident. It was over grown below an 80 acre lake. Some seepage kept it damp. There were earthworms galore. Most folks walked around it due to the wetness, I was quail hunting and in a hurry to beat dark so I cut thru it to get to the next field.

My lab went birdy, no quail in here I thought, got ready anyway, WOODCOCK! My first. The place was loaded with them. I went back several times with my Parker "0" frame in 16 gauge. They eventually migrated further south.

I found a similar spot south of St. Louis off the Mississippi on a low flat ridge. I was probably using a Win M-12 in 20 gauge.

Now I'd have to take a Benelli 20.

The above happened over a 15 year period, where I hunted if one did not catch the migration right there would be bird less hunts.
